Consumers today are always on the lookout for new and exciting taste sensations. Obviously, cocoa and the products made from it should not be ignored. However, only a few cocoa bean varieties from around the equator offer truly amazing tastes and aromas. We have selected some that could be considered real gems.

Just as for wine, coffee or tea, each type of plantation cocoa reflects characteristics typical for the particular variety, soil conditions and regional climate. In order to obtain optimum flavour, it is necessary that only the finest examples are harvested. In all aspects of processing the beans, maximum care focuses on preserving and capturing every delicate flavour and aroma.

Our range of cocoa comprises a breadth of tastes and aromas that are entirely different from any standard product. The taste experience provided by each is truly one-of -a-kind, so  these products are just begging to be explored.

Peru

Cocoa dominated by a sublime intense aroma and the flavour of superior plain chocolate.

•        A wide range of exotic flavour profiles

•        The cocoa has a deep red colour, with distinctive notes of red wine and fruit

Specific feature:

Hints of wine and fruit, combined with sour and bitter notes

Santo Domingo

Cocoa with a creamy-butter aroma, creamy in taste, which is full-bodied with a significant but still very pleasant bitterness. Reduced fat content.

•        A strong taste with astringent and bitter notes

•        The cocoa beans offer the rich and acidic freshness of red fruit, spicy notes and interesting tannins typical for red wine

Specific feature:

Hints of red fruit and wine

São Tomé

This cocoa features a subtle combination of fine bitterness and sweet tones drawn by the taste and aroma of red berries. Reduced fat content.

•        Strong, distinct taste with a firm body

•        Plentiful fruity, citrusy aroma and subtle notes of olives, peas and spices

Specific feature:

Mild and chocolaty with a refreshing hint of citrus fruit

Tanzania

Cocoa dominated by a well-balanced, sweetly bitter and full-bodied taste. Its aroma is very intense, reminiscent of macadamia nuts.

•        Combines intensity and bitterness with fruitiness and freshness thanks to its moderate acidic notes

•        Reveals a fine fruity aroma and the usual hint of vanilla

Fruity and aromatic citrus fruit

Holland blend

Cocoa blend with a well-balanced, mild and sweet taste and hazelnut aroma.
